Cheer Up Cambridge

Where or where has the humour gone?  That question is currently being asked over at the Cambridge Times after an article by James Haggerty has gotten some people a little upset. It seems that they were bothered by a story he wrote about Dogs and another about Cat’s, two totally humorous pieces that most of the readers seemed to have missed the point on.  And they have jumped on him like a dog on a bone, oops, maybe stereotyping dogs will upset them as well so I shouldn’t say that should I.  But after all are not dogs just people with short legs wearing fur coats?  Maybe it is something here on the far side of the 401 ,Mr.Haggerty is after all from Hespeler, but i find it necessary to look at life in a total funny way and there is nothing wrong with doing that. There is joy and laughter in anything and sometimes it is important to step back and laugh at all the silliness in ones life. Another Hespeler resident Robert Wesley has published at the Times what i think was a great reply and is well worth the read

City has no sense of humour

Now some of the other letters are just absurd as they miss the point of the story in the first place and show that too many in Cambridge have forgotten how to laugh.

Columnist is just a menace

Dog column offensive

But cheer up Cambridge, we will keep you laughing,  and hope we can remain your friends Fur-Ever and that we are not barking up the wrong tree here but of course you can’t teach an old dog new tricks.   So check out the site and have a nice day!
